Power Life Charismatic Ministry, like most churches, started in a very small and humble way. The church’s beginning can be traced to the summer of 2013 when the Pastor’s sister visited from Pennsylvania. A prior 3 day prayer and fasting bout led to a fire brand prayer meeting in the Pastor’s living room that sparked the first sign of what God was about to do. And we did not know that eventful day out efforts would result in Power Life church, but God did.

After this experience there ensured am overwhelming urge to continue with these meetings on regular basis. Pastor Dodd led Sunday services for a couple of weeks in his basement and was ably assisted by his wife Bertha and their children. They were later joined by a couple, their children, and two other members.

As a burden to grow and nurture this ministry became compelling, we began to meet weekly in the same place and within weeks we were ready for a formal name and real home for the increasing number of people who were being drawn into our fellowship. We all assumed various responsibilities and began to work and pray to seek God’s direction for the way forward.

As the direction for the ministry became clearer, a name for the church became apparent. After an intense prayer consultations , a decision was made on our church name; Power Life Charismatic Ministries International. The name reflected our emphasis pm Jesus’ ability to change lives, situations, and circumstances, as well as a desire to extend Christ influence as disciples to the whole world.

There were challenges that threatened to stall the gains made and shatter the hopes raised, but undaunted by these obstacles we went ahead without looking back. God moved in an amazing manner and the gates of hell could not Prevail against us. Matthew 16:18

Our Pastor’s casual conversation with a Brother from the Ghanaian 7th day Adventist church relayed to the brother we had started a church. The leadership of this church later offered to rent their meeting hall for our Sunday services.

The Lord is with His people and He will accomplish great things with a growing church that trusted God to set them apart and use them for His glory.
